Third shooting in under five days

Edinburgh Road in Kensington
The man was shot in the leg in the early hours

Merseyside police are investigating the third targeted shooting in Liverpool in less than five days.

A 41-year-old man was shot on Edinburgh Road in Kensington in the early hours of Thursday. The area has been sealed off for forensic examination.

He is being treated for a gunshot wound to his right leg.

Police say it is not linked with a shooting in Kensington on Sunday when a man was shot in the groin, or one on Tuesday when a man was shot in the leg.
